Another post here showed that there was an issue between a dell support assist driver and windows 10. It started acting up immediately installing chrome. He installed a new fan, new SSD, battery and a clean windows 10 install. Gave the computer to a friend who trouble shoot things like this and he found that there was hardware failure reports indicating the fan was not running correctly.
